2020 has awakened our country to the importance of knowing who our leaders are. All of a sudden “we the people” see decisions being made for us about our children, families, education, health, jobs, and businesses, as well as our liberties, freedoms of speech and religion, our rights to gather and bear arms. There has been a growing sense that “we the people” are being “herded” against our wills towards a destination that is anti-American and not of our choosing.
As uncomfortable as it’s been, this has been a necessary wake up call for us. It is time for “we the people” to take back control of who we are and where we’re headed. It’s time for “we the people” to take back our rightful position.
Government is not in place to “lead” us. It’s in place to “represent” us! It’s primary purpose is to protect our rights, not impose laws and regulations.
So how do “we the people” correct this situation. I suggest three action steps for each of us to take.
Educate
The awakening has made it imperative for each of us to know who our elected officials are. Beyond just their names, we need to know what they stand for and worldviews they support. This is not just our national legislators. This includes state and local elected officials. This includes all of those that we chose to put into a position of oversight in our lives – school boards, city councilors, chambers of commerce boards, non profit organization boards, parent/teacher organizations, church leadership, homeowner associations, city business associations, and many more. WHO HAVE WE PUT INTO POSITIONS OF INFLUENCE over our lives?
Activate
Get involved in leadership at any level in your sphere of influence! Church, HomeOwners Association, Country Club, School Board, Parent Teacher Association, City Council, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, any club you are a member of, Sports Team, state and local government… get involved! If you don’t get in these spots as a conservative, someone else will and chances are good they won’t have the same biblical values as you. It’s not enough to just get frustrated and upset and post on social media. You have to get activated in the process! Liberals are organized and very intentional. They are targeting all of these positions of influence. We can’t be “too busy” anymore. It’s time to step up and be sure to cast your vote in elections for those that will be in leadership positions.
Congregate
Divide and conquer is a real strategy! And it works! Liberal activists and fans of the global new order are using all means possible to divide us. Health fraud, voter fraud, defund the police, black lives matter, antifa, radical islam, me too… it goes on and on. Our biblical values and constitutional boundaries are under intense attack right now. Liberal leaders and RHINO’s are out of the shadows and bringing a direct assault with their mandates and shutdowns. Their goal is to keep us apart; keep us uninformed and misinformed; keep us isolated and alone so they can continue to control. Get together with your family and your friends. Go to church and bible study as much as you want. Go to the park and the restaurants. Get out of your homes and congregate with others. Talk about the issues that you are passionate about. Use this time with others to get informed and to inspire one another to activation!
